ORAIN • THE GEOMETRIC INTELLIGENCE

One System. One Intelligence.

ORAIN is an AI-native engineering system designed to understand engineering intent, reason about design, construct precise geometry, and make complex engineering workflows more intelligent.

Behind ORAIN: The Unified Technology Stack

ORAIN is not a collection of disconnected engineering tools. It is a unified intelligence system built from specialized layers that allow machines to move from intent to reasoning, reasoning to geometry, and geometry to an engineering-ready representation.

INTERFACE LAYER - 01

PAXX 1.0

Exposes ORAIN's capabilities through structured APIs, connecting external software and platforms to the underlying intelligence stack.

REASONING LAYER - 02

ERE Engine

Evaluates design intent, constraints, relationships, and feasibility before geometry is constructed to determine what makes engineering sense.

PLANNING LAYER - 03

Geometric Engine

Translates engineering reasoning into structured geometric representations, organizing features, dimensions, constraints, and dependencies.

CONSTRUCTION LAYER - 04

Orain Forge

Executes the geometric plan and constructs precise engineering geometry using robust, topology-aware CAD-kernel technology.

VISUALIZATION LAYER - 05

VSE Sub-Engine

Provides the visual representation layer, allowing engineers to inspect and interact with design states while remaining decoupled from kernel logic.

CONSTRUCTION LAYER • KERNEL TECHNOLOGY

Orain Forge

The geometry construction and execution technology behind ORAIN. Forge is designed to transform structured geometric instructions into precise, engineering-grade CAD geometry through robust computational geometry and CAD-kernel technology.

CORE MANDATE

From Geometric Intent to Physical Geometry

Generating engineering geometry is fundamentally different from generating a visual approximation. A usable engineering model must maintain precise dimensions, topology, relationships, and geometric integrity. Forge sits at the point where geometric intelligence becomes physical geometry.

ENGINEERING RIGOR

Built for Engineering Geometry

Forge provides the computational foundation required to construct what the system has reasoned and planned:

  • Precise geometric construction
  • Feature and operation execution
  • Topological consistency & manifold integrity
  • Solid and surface modeling
  • Automated geometry validation
  • CAD-compatible representations
  • Engineering file generation (STEP, IGES, B-Rep)
PIPELINE INTEGRATION

Built as Infrastructure

Forge does not determine what an engineer should design — that intelligence comes from the broader ORAIN system. Instead, Forge acts as the reliable bridge between intelligent geometric planning and deterministic geometry construction.

PROGRAMMATIC ACCESS LAYER

PAXX 1.0

The API layer being developed to provide programmatic access to ORAIN's engineering intelligence capabilities. PAXX allows applications, engineering platforms, and internal systems to communicate with ORAIN through structured interfaces.

INTEGRATION CAPABILITIES

Machine-to-Machine Engineering

Modern engineering workflows rarely exist inside a single application. Through an API-first architecture, applications interact with ORAIN programmatically rather than relying solely on a graphical interface.

  • Geometry generation requests
  • Engineering intent processing
  • Feature and design representations
  • Parametric geometry operations
  • Validation workflows
  • Engineering data exchange with CAD/CAE tools
DEVELOPER SPECIFICATION

Built for Integration

Developers can integrate with ORAIN through standardized JSON payloads without needing to understand the underlying CAD kernel complexity.

PLANNING & REPRESENTATION LAYER

Geometric Engine

The planning and representation layer responsible for translating engineering reasoning into structured geometric operations. It sits between engineering intelligence and geometry construction, turning abstract design intent into an executable representation.

FROM REASONING TO STRUCTURE

The Language of Engineering Geometry

Engineering intent cannot be directly converted into geometry. It first needs to be organized through the language of engineering features, dimensions, constraints, relationships, operations, and dependencies.

Features Dimensions Constraints Relationships Operations Dependencies
FEATURE-BASED PLANNING

Structured Parametric Modeling

Rather than treating a model as an arbitrary collection of surfaces, the Geometric Engine focuses on understanding how the geometry is constructed:

  • Base features & 2D sketch profiles
  • Parametric extrusions & revolutions
  • Cuts, pockets, and Boolean cavities
  • Fillets, chamfers, and edge treatments
  • Parent-child feature dependencies
PIPELINE BRIDGE

Connecting Intelligence to CAD

ERE determines whether the engineering intent makes sense. The Geometric Engine determines how that intent should be represented geometrically. Forge then executes the resulting geometric operations.

Engineering Intent → ERE → Geometric Engine → Orain Forge → Geometry

REASONING & VISUALIZATION LAYERS

ERE & VSE Engines

The reasoning brain and interactive presentation layers that complete the ORAIN Geometric Intelligence architecture.

THE REASONING LAYER

Engineering Reasoning Engine (ERE)

The Engineering Reasoning Engine forms the reasoning layer of ORAIN[cite: 2, 4]. ERE evaluates design intent, engineering constraints, relationships, dependencies, and physical feasibility before geometry is constructed.

Its role is to determine whether a proposed design makes engineering sense and what reasoning should guide its downstream construction.

THE VISUALIZATION LAYER

Visualization Sub-Engine (VSE)

The Visualization Sub-Engine provides the visual representation of ORAIN's outputs and intermediate design states.

VSE allows engineers to see, inspect, and interact with generated geometry while remaining strictly decoupled from the underlying reasoning and kernel construction systems[cite: 2, 4].
